HeART Matters

I have to tell you about a new friend I made on FaceBook recently. Susan Schanerman was admiring some of my art work, and expressing some limitations she was experiencing with getting pictures onto her blog. Only a couple of suggestions from me, and she was off and running, really excited and pleased.

Well, there's more. Susan started a group on FaceBook called HeART Matters, and you can "see" all about it right here http://groups.to/heartmatters (Really, there is no .com at the end of that link.) And it turns out, the membership of this informal group is exploding in less than a week, and we have a HeART Gallery there! Yes, and yours truly has posted 4 paintings so far!

Ah Folks, do you miss me?

I keep meaning to post a new one, but was waiting to finish my latest painting, so I would have something fresh and new to share! However, this one kept asking for more final touches.

But, have no fear, because coming soon, is "Chaos, in Color!" - there's a real swirling of energy in this one! It is 16" by 20" and has all my favorite colors in it!

Peaceful Mountain

Here's a new picture for all you art connoisseurs, called "Peaceful Mountain," Copyright 2008 by Sheryl Brown, All Rights Reserved.

Climbing a mountain can be a very rigorous undertaking, or just a nice low-key hike. In any case, you can rest awhile upon reaching the top!

I remember hiking up Mount Si (east of Seattle) a few times, and it can seem just so relentless -- up, up, and up -- and not the most viewpoints along the way compared to some hikes.

But when you get to the top, it's like being on top of the world.... And you can sit quietly and listen to the vague sounds of the freeway far below.

Now that's peaceful, being above it all.

I painted this painting after putting an upsetting issue to rest. Hope that inspires you too!

A Love Note for "Cloud Dance"

Here's a love note from someone who's in love with one of my paintings! Morgine (pronounced, "more jean") was one of my very first customers. I was so thrilled to be able to share my art work with someone I've never even met, but feel a kinship to!

"I LOVE my Cloud Dance Picture! Wow it was just like the original with that special paper or whatever you use! Looks like the actual painting! I have it sitting on my desk, actually, hiding the big modem I now have with the Satellite dish since we are finally off dial up! I do not enjoy the constant flash of lights so your beautiful painting is perfect to soothe my soul, inspire my own creativity and it just makes me SMILE looking at it! Thanks so much!!

By the way, it looks like the actual painting because of a sophisticated process of layering the ink onto actual canvas. This process is known as "giclee," pronounced the French way.

To offset the exuberance of "Chakra Shower," here's "Chakra Dance," my onetime attempt to copy my own work.

See, it just goes to show you that every painting is its own little snowflake of a personality!

I noticed that certain personalities prefer the one or the other.
